The structure and thermodynamics of calix[n]arene complexes with dipyridines and phenanthroline in aqueous solution studied by microcalorimetry and NMR spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The binding modes, binding ability, molecular selectivity and thermodynamic origins of three water soluble calixarenes upon complexation with dipyridines (DPD) and 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) were investigated by NMR spectra. Results reveal that 4-DPD, 2-DPD and Phen are included in the cavity of calix[5]arene (C5AS) with different patterns while Phen is included upright in C4AS.

Equilibrium states of self-assembly systems: Monte Carlo simulations
Article Abstract:
The two dimensional lattice structures are suggested for the equilibrium states of the self assembly of amphiphilic molecules in water based on Monte Carlo simulations. The determination of equilibrium of all aggregate sizes of the system is the most reliable way to ensure that the equilibrium state was attained by the system.

The effect of pH on coupled mass transfer and sol-gel reaction in a two-phase system
Article Abstract:
The effect of temperature, concentration and type of buffer on the sol-gel reaction and mass transfer rates are analyzed. The results have shown that the gel rates have increased with increasing temperature and increasing concentration and are the highest at a neutral pH.
